The Chandrian Massacre
The Chandrian, led by Haliax and including Cinder, slaughter Kvothe's Edema Ruh troupe in their camp. Kvothe hides and witnesses the killers before fleeing into the forest with his father's lute and Abenthy's book.
Outcome
Kvothe becomes an orphan and begins his years of survival in Tarbean; the event sets him on a quest for revenge and knowledge about the Chandrian.
