Masters' Hall serves as the central seat of power for the University’s governing body, the Masters, and evolves from a largely unseen institution in The Name of the Wind into a tangible, politically charged arena in The Wise Man’s Fear. In the first book it is referenced only through the actions of its members, while the second book places the reader inside its chambers, revealing the Masters’ deliberations, rivalries, and influence over the University’s future. Across the series the hall transforms from a distant symbol of authority into a living stage where Kvothe’s academic and personal fortunes are repeatedly decided.
