Arvedui

Arvedui’s name carries the distant weight of kingship and a northern realm, though he remains little more than a presence at the edge of the tale. He invites curiosity precisely through that silence: a figure from an older, half-remembered history.

Arvedui is recalled as the last king of Arthedain, heir to the diminished northern realm of the Dúnedain. When Angmar’s power threatened his kingdom, he claimed the crown of Gondor through his wife, Fíriel, but Gondor’s council rejected his claim. After Arthedain fell, he fled north and perished in the frozen waters of the Bay of Forochel. His son, Aranarth, became the first Chieftain of the Dúnedain, carrying forward the line that would one day lead to Aragorn.
Description
The text offers no direct account of Arvedui’s appearance, so his face, coloring, hair, eyes, build, and clothing cannot be specified with confidence. He may be evoked only in the broad visual language of a northern king: dignified, grave, and clothed with restrained royal formality. Avoid adding distinctive features or precise costume details not established by the text.
