Háma, tall captain of Théoden's guard with golden braided hair, first appeared at the king's door in Edoras, burnished mail and green sun-shield marking his duty as he admitted Gandalf and Aragorn. Speaking of the wizard's approach with his fellow guards, he served loyally until falling valiantly before the Gate at Helm's Deep. Buried alone under the Hornburg's shadow, his sacrifice honored the Rohirrim's stand, a steadfast supporter in Théoden's revival and the defense against Saruman.
