Oromë is invoked as a presence from the world’s first, mythic age: mighty enough to make even a king riding into battle seem touched by divine grandeur. Though only a name in the tale, he carries the force of a legend that dwarfs mortal time.

Oromë the Great is one of the Valar, the powers of the ancient world, and is remembered here through a comparison to Théoden riding into battle. His name lends the king’s charge the scale and splendor of the legendary battles fought when the world was young. He has no further personal arc in this volume.
Description
The text identifies Oromë as a Vala, a godlike power of old, but gives no concrete physical description. His stature, coloring, face, hair, eyes, and clothing are unspecified; what distinguishes him here is the immense, ancient majesty his name conveys.
