Hobbiton

villagehobbit-style

Hobbiton is a peaceful pastoral village of hobbit-holes built into a green hill with paths leading up it. Bag End overlooks a garden with flowers glowing red and golden including snap-dragons, sunflowers and nasturtiums trailing over turf walls and peeping into round windows. Surrounding fields shimmer with new green spring growth under bright sun, with a large field to the south used for community events.

Hobbiton, the idyllic hobbit village nestled at the base of The Hill in the Shire, begins the series as a serene haven of green hills, flower-filled gardens, and cozy smials, epitomized by the lush beauty of Bag End on a vibrant spring day. It remains largely untouched during the main quest but suffers devastating destruction at the hands of Saruman's ruffians during the Scouring of the Shire, symbolizing the war's reach into the heart of Middle-earth. Ultimately, under the leadership of returning heroes like Frodo, Sam, and Merry, Hobbiton is meticulously restored to its former pastoral glory, marking a triumphant renewal amid bittersweet farewells.
