Nayan’s wife is mentioned as the person in whose arms he sleeps when the Great Kaan’s army comes up. The account says he was extravagantly fond of her, but gives her no name or independent history. She remains a fleeting, intimate presence in a scene otherwise shaped by the approach of power.

The text gives no physical description of Nayan’s wife. Her height, build, complexion, hair, eyes, facial features, clothing, and distinguishing features are unknown; no particular appearance or demeanor can be established.
