Mela

Mela appears as a compact link to the ancient study of the world, a name that hints at coastlines, distances, and the limits of what was known. He feels less like a presence in the scene than a voice carried forward through books.

Mela is cited as an ancient Roman geographer and serves as one of the authorities recalled in the account. Nothing further is related about his personal life or arc; his place in the narrative is the persistence of his name as a source of geographical knowledge.
Description
The text offers no physical details of Mela. His age, build, complexion, hair, eyes, facial features, clothes, and accessories are unspecified, so a visual reference should keep these traits open and avoid conflating him with other historical figures of the same name.
