Balagá is a compact, ruddy figure whose glittering eyes seem to catch every opportunity—and especially the sight of wine. His fine blue coat over rough sheepskin hints at a man equally at home with a flourish and with the practical work of the road.

A short, fair-haired peasant with a sharp snub nose and bright little eyes, Balagá is known as a skilled driver with a confident command of his troyka. His eyes sparkle at the sight of wine, and he crosses himself with an easy gesture before settling to his work. On the road, he gathers the reins with practiced deliberation and shouts his way through traffic, turning his craft into a spirited performance.
Description
Balagá is short and stocky-looking, with fair hair, a snub nose, a flushed red face, and a particularly thick red neck. His little eyes glitter above a small beard, giving his expression a lively, alert quality. He wears a fine dark-blue cloth coat lined with silk over a sheepskin, an unexpectedly handsome layer over practical clothing. When driving, he holds his elbows high and twists the reins around his hands with assured ease.
