Also known as old Karáy

Old Karáy looks like a survivor of muddy fields and long seasons: shaggy, worn, and marked by a jowl that hangs over yellow teeth. Beneath the scruff is an unmistakable alertness, the stubborn spark of an old dog who has not quite given up watching the world.

Karáy is an elderly borzoi, shaggy and worn, remembered for once tackling a large wolf alone. While searching for fleas, he bares his yellow teeth and snaps at his hind legs, then suddenly stretches out toward the wolf, his hair bristling. His battered, possibly bruised appearance does nothing to dull the old dog’s instinctive courage.

Description

Karáy is an elderly, shaggy borzoi whose coat is rough and felted, with long matted hair hanging from one thigh. His jowl droops, and his yellow teeth show when he bares them. The text gives no coat color or precise build, but his worn, scruffy appearance and alert, tenacious bearing make him distinctive.
