Karl Bogdánich Schubert is an old colonel and regimental commander, remembered as both brave and honorable, yet also vindictive. When Rostóv protests, Bogdánich silences him and calls him a liar, standing firm in the authority of his rank and judgment. His stern bearing lingers even in Rostóv’s feverish recollections, though the text gives no fuller personal arc.
Description
Bogdánich is an old man with a high-shouldered frame and an athletic back. Light hair shows at the nape of his neck, which is notably red, beneath a solemn, stern face set in a frown. His bearing is rigid and commanding, and his bass voice deepens the impression of a seasoned colonel. His clothing is not described in detail.
