The Dilapidated Cottage begins as the isolated, crumbling home of the Archeron sisters in the mortal lands, serving as the humble origin point for Feyre's journey into the faerie realm. Across the series, it transforms from a symbol of poverty and survival into a poignant reminder of the sisters' shared past, occasionally referenced as a touchstone for their growth and the vast changes in their lives. Though largely abandoned after the sisters are taken to Prythian, the cottage remains a quiet anchor to their mortal beginnings, underscoring the distance they have traveled both literally and figuratively.
