Summer Court Territory first appears as a distant, tragic homeland in A Court of Thorns and Roses, referenced only through Alis’s grief over her sister’s and mate’s deaths. Across the series it evolves from a peripheral, sorrow-tinged memory into a living political and military power whose verdant lands, turquoise seas, and strategic harbors become vital to the Night Court’s war efforts. By the later books the territory’s rulers, Tarquin and Cresseida, shift from wary observers to active allies, their court’s resources and warriors proving decisive in the final confrontations with Hybern.
