The Western Woods begin as an ominous, mist-shrouded borderland separating the mortal realm from Prythian, a place of whispered legends and lethal faerie traps. As the series unfolds, the woods transform from a passive threshold into an active battleground and sanctuary, witnessing everything from clandestine meetings to full-scale war. By the later books, the Western Woods evolve into a symbol of uneasy coexistence between mortals and Fae, their ancient trees standing witness to treaties, betrayals, and the fragile new order.
