Misha Sizlis is one of Moscow’s homeless children, a boy caught in the bitter winter that gathers around the rocket at VDNKh. Rather than merely watch the preparations, he helps with the practical work, doggedly tightening nuts amid the frozen crowd. His brief appearance lends the scene its human scale: even a child with little shelter can make himself useful when the world is trying to begin again.
Description
Misha is a child, small against the open, snowbound square and the looming machinery of the rocket. He is dressed for the cold in worn, practical winter clothing, though no particular colors or details are specified. His features, hair, and eyes are not described. He has the intent, unyielding presence of someone concentrating on the task in his hands, shoulders drawn against the winter air.
