Olezka appears to be a boy of about ten to twelve, though he is actually nearly three hundred years old. Nephew to Arkady, he is introduced with fishing gear and the restless energy of a child who cannot wait. Beneath that ordinary boyish surface, he has a far greater responsibility, guarding against alien threats.
