Calcifer Bynes is an elf, a bureaucrat, and the son of Gormanston Bynes; he reached gold rank through cores rather than the usual path of essence development. Particular about his title and status, he meets correction with a tightly controlled fury. When sent through a portal, he bolts in a panic and stumbles on the yielding cloud floor, an undignified flight that threatens to reflect poorly on his father. He remains a minor figure, remembered chiefly for his brittle pride and the embarrassment surrounding his retreat.
Description
Calcifer is a male elf, but the text does not specify his age, height, build, complexion, hair, eyes, or facial structure. No consistent style of clothing or accessories is described. His most concrete visual cues are his locked jaw and tightly pressed lips, which give his silence an unmistakably angry edge. He carries himself as a status-conscious bureaucrat, with a formal, self-important presence.
