The Rune Tortoise appears as a formidable magical creature, its runic turquoise shell serving as both its signature and its defense. In battle, its glowing marks dim one by one as it draws on their power, and its battered shell darkens from the violence. With its final protection, its body takes on a metallic sheen and it withdraws beneath shifting shell plates; afterward, it dissolves into rainbow smoke, leaving its intact shell behind.
Description
The Rune Tortoise has blue skin and a broad turquoise shell about a metre long. The shell is divided into distinct segments, each marked by a rune that glows with its own magical light. Its stout, heavily protected shape feels ancient and immovable, while the luminous markings lend its armored body an otherworldly presence.
