Aedesius succeeded Iamblichus as a leading Neoplatonic philosopher and directed the young Julian in mystical pursuits at Pergamus. His teachings on divine knowledge and the mysteries of philosophy would influence generations, though he lived to see the beginning of paganism's decline.
Description
A venerable elderly philosopher with long white beard and thinning hair, his frame slight from declining strength. He wears flowing robes in muted earth tones, his skin pale and parchment-like from years of study. His deep-set eyes carry the gentle but penetrating gaze of one who has devoted his life to mystical and philosophical contemplation.
