There is a coldness to his presence that chills the air of the palace, a ruler whose gaze lingers too long on those around him. His authority feels brittle, as if it might crack under the weight of his own suspicions.

Al-Mutawakkil began his reign as the Abbasid caliph, inheriting the mantle of power in a time of political fragility. His rule was defined by jealousy and cruelty, turning against those he should have trusted and placing his faith in strangers. Ultimately, his reliance on Turkish guards proved fatal, as they betrayed him and cut his body into seven pieces, ending his tyranny in a brutal act of vengeance.
Description
A middle-aged man of Middle Eastern descent, with olive-toned skin and dark hair and beard that show the first threads of gray. His face is stern and severe, marked by the lines of suspicion and authority. He wears the rich embroidered robes and turban of an Abbasid caliph, adorned with gold thread and fine fabrics that speak to his station. His posture is rigid and commanding, his presence filling the space with an air of imperious control.
