There's something inadequate about this man's assumption of power—the kind of minister whose abilities fall short of the role he has seized through assassination rather than merit.

Allectus began as the first minister of Carausius in Roman Britain, but his lack of equal abilities to his predecessor led him to assassinate his master and seize power as a usurper. His brief reign ended in defeat and death, marking him as one of the many failed claimants who briefly disrupted Roman authority in Britain during the late empire.

Description

A middle-aged Roman man with the bearing of someone elevated beyond his natural capabilities. Lacks the commanding presence of a natural leader, wearing the trappings of authority that seem borrowed rather than earned. His features suggest the strain of one who has reached beyond his abilities through violence rather than merit.
