Andrew Palæologus, son of Thomas Palæologus, was educated in Italy alongside his brother Manuel. As the last vestiges of Byzantine imperial authority crumbled, he made the desperate choice to sell his imperial title to the kings of France and Arragon. His life became one of degradation, marked by a base existence and marriage that further diminished his once-noble standing.
Description
A Byzantine prince in exile, Andrew carries the remnants of imperial bearing despite his degraded circumstances. His features retain the refinement of noble birth, though marked by the strain of his reduced position. His clothing, once befitting royalty, now shows the wear of exile and diminished fortunes, yet he maintains something of the dignity that comes from imperial lineage.
