Chosroes of Armenia was a Christian king who traced his royal descent from the ancient Arsacid dynasty. He allied with Roman forces against the Persian king Artaxerxes, though his courage was questioned by contemporaries who noted his reluctance to engage in military danger. Married to Olympias, he maintained his royal dignity while carefully avoiding direct confrontation with superior forces.
Description
An Armenian king of adult years, Chosroes presents the appearance of Eastern Christian royalty. His dark hair and beard are maintained in the fashion of Armenian nobility, and he wears a royal crown along with Christian royal insignia. His clothing combines traditional Eastern royal garments with symbols of his Christian faith, and he carries himself with the measured caution of a monarch navigating between powerful empires.
