Count Marcellinus began as a high-ranking imperial official, the Count of the Sacred Largesses, wielding considerable influence at court. His ambition led him to become the architect of a major conspiracy against the emperor, using his wealth and position to seduce troops to his cause. As the conspiracy unfolded, he served as a bold ambassador to Constantius, and his actions would mark him as both conspirator and chronicler of his turbulent times.
Description
A distinguished Roman courtier in his prime, with a tall, lean build and sharp patrician features. His dark hair shows touches of gray at the temples, framing a clean-shaven face with calculating dark eyes. He carries himself with the confident arrogance of imperial authority, dressed in the elaborate robes and golden insignia befitting his position as Count of the Sacred Largesses.
