The Fatimites, also known as the Fatimids and descendants of Ali, were rivals to the Abbasids who established their own caliphate. They were described as either rash or pusillanimous in their actions, in contrast to the more courageous and discreet descendants of Abbas who nurtured their rising fortunes with greater wisdom.
Description
Middle-aged men of Middle Eastern descent with olive to tan skin tones and dark hair and beards. They wear the distinctive robes and turbans of early Islamic nobility, their expressions varying between rash determination and cautious calculation. Their bearing reflects the tension between ancient claims and uncertain fortunes.
