There's a weight to his presence that speaks of long-held power and careful judgment. His gaze is steady, appraising, as if every stranger is a potential ally or threat. The air around him carries the scent of woodsmoke and old stone, and his voice, when it comes, is low and deliberate.

Garribald ruled as King of Bavaria during a time of shifting alliances and fragile peace. When approached by Autharis seeking a marriage alliance, he summoned his daughter Theudelinda for examination by the unknown stranger, weighing the future of his house against the uncertainties of the age. His decision would bind Bavaria to greater Lombard fortunes, shaping the destinies of both his daughter and the kingdoms around them.
Description
Garribald is a mature man of solid build, with a broad frame and the weathered complexion of one accustomed to open air and council halls. His hair, once dark, is threaded with silver and falls to his shoulders beneath a simple circlet. A thick beard frames a face marked by deep-set eyes and heavy brows. He dresses in heavy woolen tunics of muted earth tones, secured by a bronze brooch, and often wears a fur-lined cloak. His bearing is that of a king who measures every word and gesture with care.
