There's something measured in his bearing, the way he holds himself between the demands of action and the need to remember. His presence suggests a man who serves both sword and pen with equal dedication.

Geoffrey of Villehardouin served as marshal of Champagne, one of six deputies chosen to direct the Fourth Crusade, bringing both military skill and literary talent to his role. He condescended in the rude idiom of his age and country to write or dictate an original narrative of the councils and actions he witnessed. His chronicle captured the crusade's complex web of ambition, faith, and betrayal, though his pen seemed to falter at the death of Boniface, as if the weight of that loss exceeded his capacity to record.
Description
A middle-aged nobleman of strong, weathered build with graying hair visible beneath a simple metal helm. His face bears the marks of both authority and experience, with the practical demeanor of someone equally comfortable commanding troops or recording events. He wears functional armor over fine but practical clothing, carrying both the sword of his marshal's office and the parchment and quill of his chronicler's role.
