George Gemistus Plethon was an elderly Greek philosopher who taught in the house of Cosimo de' Medici during his visit to Italy in old age. A voluminous writer and master of Bessarion, he became the central figure in reviving Platonism among Italian scholars. His teachings influenced the Renaissance revival of classical Greek philosophy.
Description
An elderly Greek man with flowing white hair and beard, his face lined with age and contemplation. He wears traditional Byzantine scholarly robes of dark fabric with subtle embroidery. His posture suggests both the dignity of advanced years and the gentle authority of a master teacher surrounded by manuscripts and classical learning.
