Glycerius begins as an obscure soldier elevated to the purple by his patron Gundobald. Unable to maintain his position through civil war, he exchanges the Roman sceptre for the bishopric of Salona, later becoming archbishop of Milan, his ecclesiastical career marked by both elevation and the shadow of political violence.
Description
Middle-aged male with the bearing of a soldier suddenly elevated to imperial rank. Features reflecting both military discipline and the weight of unexpected authority. Initially dressed in imperial purple, later appearing in ecclesiastical garments appropriate to his roles as bishop and archbishop.
