Guntram was a Merovingian king whose reign was marked by the harsh justice typical of his era. When his chamberlain Chundo was suspected of killing a wild animal, Guntram ordered him stoned to death on mere suspicion, demonstrating the absolute power and often arbitrary nature of Merovingian royal authority.
