Ingundis was a thirteen-year-old Catholic princess of the Merovingian line who married Prince Hermengild. When she refused to abandon her Catholic faith, she faced violent persecution from the Gothic queen Goisvintha, who beat and kicked her until she was covered in blood, stripped her, and threw her into a fish-pond.
Description
A thirteen-year-old girl of slender build with long flowing hair that marks her youth and royal status. Her features are delicate, still carrying the softness of early adolescence. She wears fine garments appropriate to her station, though they show signs of violence—torn fabric and the marks of mistreatment upon her young frame.
