There's an air of quiet authority about him as he stands upon the ancient walls, his presence both spiritual and strategic, as if the very stones beneath his feet recognize his command.

James served as Bishop of Edessa during a time of great conflict, appearing on the city walls beneath the figure of the Roman emperor. When faced with an invading force likened to a new Sennacherib, he called upon divine intervention, sending forth an army of gnats that stung the trunks of war elephants and threw the enemy host into disarray.
Description
A man of olive complexion with dark hair and beard, dressed in the elaborate robes of a bishop, his ecclesiastical garments richly decorated with embroidery. He carries himself with the dignity befitting his station, standing upon ancient defensive walls with the bearing of one accustomed to both prayer and command.
