Leuderis remained behind in Rome when the Gothic forces fled, choosing to stay with four thousand soldiers rather than abandon the city to its fate. His decision to remain, whether from pride or principle, led to his capture and the symbolic surrender of Rome's keys to Emperor Justinian, marking the end of Gothic control over the ancient capital.

Description

An elderly Gothic warrior with weathered features and graying hair and beard, his ancient armor and cloak bearing the marks of long service. Despite his age, he carries himself with dignified bearing, holding the keys of Rome as symbols of both his authority and his ultimate surrender to the forces of Emperor Justinian.
