There is something untamed in his bearing—the look of a man who has lived between water and sky, between the memory of chains and the taste of stolen land.

The Limigantes began as slaves of the Sarmatians, a hardy race of hunters and herdsmen dwelling in the marshes. Rising against their masters, they claimed the lands they had once defended, becoming a fierce and independent tribe. Their aggression eventually brought them into conflict with Roman forces under Constantius, leading to their defeat and exile from their hard-won territory.
Description
The Limigantes are a hardy race of marsh-dwelling hunters and herdsmen, their sun-weathered skin and tangled hair marking lives spent between water and reeds. Their builds are lean and muscular from constant movement, their rough leather and fur garments suited to the wetlands. They carry hunter's spears and move with the wary aggression of those who have known both servitude and sudden freedom.
