Mahomet, the Arabian prophet, began as a merchant who at age forty received divine revelation and founded a new religion. He preached at Mecca and propagated his faith through both spiritual teaching and military conquest. His health declined over four years, culminating in a fourteen-day fever that ultimately claimed his life, though he maintained his dignity until the end.
