Michael VI, known as Stratioticus, represented the final decline of the Macedonian dynasty. A military veteran whose mind had deteriorated with age, he could only perceive through the eyes and execute through the hands of his ministers. His brief reign marked the end of an era, as the empire passed from the hands of a once-proud military line into uncertainty.
Description
An elderly man whose once-powerful frame has become decrepit with age, his pale skin deeply wrinkled and his thinning white hair barely covering his scalp. His eyes appear unfocused and vacant, suggesting diminished mental capacity. He wears imperial robes that seem too large for his shrunken frame, the once-rich fabrics now faded and ill-fitting. His posture is hunched and dependent, requiring support from others to maintain even the appearance of imperial dignity.
