There's an unmistakable force to this man of the church, someone whose spiritual authority seems forged in the same fire as military command. His eyes hold both the compassion of a shepherd and the calculating gaze of a leader who has faced both enemies and the elements.

Pelagius began as archdeacon who stood before Totila with the Gospels, pleading for mercy, and rose to become pope despite having only two bishops to impose hands upon him. His transformation from deacon to resistance leader saw him repel Arab slaves and transform a sword into the sceptre of Catholic kings, though his pride and insolence would later contribute to military disaster at Damietta when he assumed the character of general in the pope's name.
Description
A hardy, commanding figure with the build of a mountaineer, dark hair and beard framing intense eyes that shift between spiritual authority and military calculation. His ecclesiastical robes cannot disguise the bearing of one equally prepared for prayer or battle, his presence radiating the dual nature of shepherd and warrior.
