Theodoric II, son of the elder Theodoric, ruled as king of the Visigoths during the final decades of Roman authority in Gaul. Though initially bound by treaty to Rome, he proved easily persuaded by self-interest to abandon these obligations, particularly after the death of Emperor Majorian removed the restraint of fear. His violation of the Roman treaty brought him the territory of Narbonne, which he firmly united to his dominions as the reward for his calculated perfidy.

Description

Theodoric II carries himself with the bearing of Visigothic royalty, his fair skin and reddish-blond hair marking his Germanic heritage. His middle-aged features suggest both the strength of his position and the calculating intelligence that guides his decisions. He wears the royal Gothic attire appropriate to his station, adorned with gold ornaments that speak to both his wealth and his authority. His demeanor reflects the pragmatic flexibility of a ruler who weighs political advantage above loyalty or treaty obligations.
