Theudelinda began as the daughter of the Bavarian king, living in the relative security of her father's court. When Autharis came disguised to examine her as a potential bride, she unknowingly participated in the ancient custom of presenting wine to a suitor, her grace and bearing sealing her fate. She would later become queen of the Lombards, her marriage to Autharis marking a significant alliance between Bavaria and the Lombard kingdom.
Description
Theudelinda possesses the refined appearance of Bavarian nobility, with fair skin and light-colored hair arranged in elaborate braids. Her facial features are delicate yet strong, with high cheekbones and expressive eyes. She wears a richly embroidered gown in deep blue and gold, appropriate to her royal station, and carries herself with the composed grace of one accustomed to courtly customs. In her hands she holds a ceremonial wine cup, the vessel gleaming as she presents it according to tradition.
