Tiberius III, originally known as Apsimar, was a rebel admiral who assumed the imperial name Tiberius and successfully dethroned Justinian II. His rise to power came through military rebellion rather than legitimate succession, and his rule was marked by the violence that brought him to the throne. The amputation of his nose remained a visible reminder of the brutal politics of Byzantine succession.
Description
A middle-aged Byzantine emperor with a mutilated nose, his features hardened by military life and rebellion. He wears the imperial purple with the bearing of a former admiral, his appearance marked by both the trappings of power and the scars of his violent rise to the throne.
