Zayd ibn Harithah began as an obsequious and affectionate servant who was tempted by the prospect of freedom. He became the freedman and adopted son of Muhammad, husband to Zeineb, and ultimately fell as a soldier and standard bearer at the Battle of Muta, dying in the foremost ranks like the warrior he had become.

Description

A devoted servant with lean build and dark hair and beard simply kept. His practical clothing reflects his status as both servant and freedman, with the bearing of quiet dignity.
