Crone is an ancient Great Raven whose watchful presence shadows the struggle around Pale, observing powers and people with a keen, irreverent eye. When events gather around the Gadrobi Hills, she carries a warning to Baruk, her battered wings and singed feathers marking the dangers she has weathered. After witnessing the battle, she returns demanding answers, unwilling to let the living ignore what she has seen.
Description
Crone is an enormous raven, all glossy black plumage and imposing breadth, with a massive ridged chest and wings that look battered at the edges. Her feathers have an oily sheen, and her splayed tail gives her silhouette a ragged, unmistakable shape. A chipped beak and glittering black eyes sharpen her watchful expression; long black talons curve beneath her. She wears a tattered coat, an oddly human detail against her dark feathers, and carries herself with bristling, imperious alertness.
