The Rhivi are a plains people encountered among tents and carts, moving through the landscape in search of a new presence. Their warriors ride Bhederin, crouched low with lances balanced in hand, and wear hides across their shoulders. The distinctive dyed threads stitched into their dust-streaked faces mark a vivid cultural presence, while the book also glimpses their community through an old woman and a small child.
Description
The Rhivi are a people rather than a single individual, so their appearances vary. The warriors described have dust-streaked faces stitched with dyed black and red threads, running from high on the cheeks down to the jaw and around the mouth. They wear Bhederin hides across their shoulders and ride crouched on Bhederin, balancing lances in one hand. The text also mentions an old woman with wrinkled hands and a five-year-old girl, without giving further physical details.
