Roald serves Baruk faithfully, announcing visitors, carrying messages, and bringing healing tea or ice when his master is unwell. He is a steady presence in the household, tasked with practical errands and the care of those who come to Baruk’s door. Though the story offers little of his private life, his attentive service makes him part of the household’s dependable fabric.
Description
Roald is an elderly man with white hair and almond-shaped eyes, the clearest features of a face otherwise left undescribed. His clothing is practical and servant’s plain, sometimes dulled by dust from carrying supplies. He bears himself with a modest, attentive composure, bowing as he enters and moving with the quiet purpose of someone accustomed to household duties.
