He wears an exaggerated black-and-white uniform with a floor-length trailing coat, a pure-black vest marked in brilliant white, and rings on his fingers. Several thin bracelets pierce the skin of his upper arms. His bearing is confident, though he can appear weary and exhausted.

Across the Mistborn series, the Lord Ruler begins as the seemingly immortal, tyrannical sovereign of the Final Empire in Book 1, where his true identity as Rashek is revealed and he is ultimately slain by Vin. By Book 2, his legacy looms as a historical specter whose fall has destabilized the world, leaving behind a power vacuum and lingering questions about his motives. By Book 7, he is remembered only as a distant historical figure whose reign shaped the political and magical landscape of Scadrial for centuries.
