The Bilming Rooftops first appear in The Lost Metal as an interconnected network of elevated walkways that transform the city's skyline into a navigable high road. Initially described simply as a route rather than a single structure, these rooftops evolve from mere architectural curiosity into a strategic thoroughfare that characters exploit for stealth and rapid transit. Their significance grows as they become integral to the city's vertical geography, offering both tactical advantages and a distinctive urban identity that sets Bilming apart from other settlements in the series.
