Bilming Factory District
Industrial district beneath elevated railway tracks with crowded tenements pressed against factories, refineries, and warehouses, narrow streets in perpetual shadow, part of port infrastructure.
The Bilming Factory District emerges in The Lost Metal as a gritty, shadowed industrial zone beneath elevated railway tracks, where crowded tenements press against factories, refineries, and warehouses that form part of the city’s vital port infrastructure. Though it appears only in the final Era 2 novel, the district embodies the rapid industrialization sweeping Scadrial after the Catacendre, transforming Bilming into a bustling hub of manufacturing and trade. Its narrow, perpetually shadowed streets highlight the social and economic tensions of the new age, where progress and poverty coexist beneath the rumble of trains and the glow of refineries.
