Trans Lateral Bypass
Wide corridor with a high arched ceiling projecting holo views of the planet surface as if it were a transparent port. It branches off to supply areas.
The Trans Lateral Bypass is a wide, high-arched corridor on the orbital station TranRollHyfa that serves as a major transit and supply artery, its ceiling displaying immersive holo views of the planet below as though it were a transparent viewport. In Fugitive Telemetry, it becomes a critical setting during Murderbot's investigation into a suspicious death, where the SecUnit uses the Bypass's layout and branching supply tunnels to track movements, analyze security footage, and ultimately confront the perpetrator in a tense standoff. Though it appears only in the sixth book, the location underscores the series' recurring themes of corporate station architecture as both functional infrastructure and a stage for hidden crimes, with its open design ironically facilitating both evasion and detection. Its holographic illusions add a layer of perceptual trickery that mirrors Murderbot's own struggles with identity and observation.
