Powder Mage Trilogy · Character
Barat
Also known as Brigadier Barat
- Minor
- First seen · Book 1 · Ch. 19
Barat carries himself with the earnest confidence of someone still discovering the weight of his uniform, his sharp features softened by unexpectedly gentle eyes that haven't yet been hardened by war. There's something almost theatrical about him, like a boy playing at being a man in his father's regalia, yet the steel in his posture commands attention.

Brigadier Barat began as a young officer in a pristine white uniform that seemed too large for him, projecting an image of youthful promise among the military elite. His arc took a darker turn as he revealed himself as an antagonist, ultimately meeting a sudden end when shot in the head by Sabastenien, his blood and brains scattering across the scene. What started as a handsome young man barely weathered by life became a stark reminder of how quickly ambition and conflict can extinguish promise.
Description
Barat is a tall, handsome young man of 26 with sharp facial features, a severe brow that contrasts with his soft cheeks and eyes, and a clean-shaven appearance. He has an athletic build and typically wears a white military uniform with a gold sash and a small sword at his side, the ensemble making him appear almost like a boy in his father's clothes. His hair is short and dark, and he projects an air of youthful authority mixed with underlying severity.
