Red Rising Saga · Character
Philippe
- Supporting
- First seen · Book 4 · Ch. 29
He has the air of a man who has learned to make frailty part of his performance: a pale-eyed gaze, a forked goatee, and a limp that lends each step a little theater. Beneath the polish and the Bacchus charm, something watchful keeps its own counsel.

Philippe debuts in Iron Gold as a master of disguise whose carefully crafted persona of a limping, drunken Gray conceals a calculated operative. His arc pivots on the betrayal of Lyria of Lagalos, transforming from a seemingly compassionate ally into the architect of her greatest loss. The lingering memory of Trigg ti Nakamura and his bond with Holiday ti Nakamura hint at deeper loyalties and unresolved grief that shape his choices.
Description
Philippe is a slim man with a narrow, carefully groomed face, a forked goatee, and unusually pale gray eyes. His right leg is badly impaired, and he moves with a pronounced limp, sometimes relying on an extendable cane. He favors a dark overcoat and polished formal clothes, with a Bacchus pendant worn close to his chest. The beard and scars that mark his face are artificial, part of a composed, slightly theatrical appearance that makes him difficult to read.
